WORK CAMP CREW LEADER


Qualifications:

Requires a strong background in construction, especially carpentry and painting. Knowledge of masonry, plumbing, and electrical a strong plus.

Ability to work with groups.

Ability to instruct young people in basic construction techniques and skills

Understanding and acceptance of ASFC’s goals and ideals.

 

Job Description:

Directs groups of 10 to 20, usually young people, in providing basic home repair and/or improvement.

Performs more technical aspects of job and keeps volunteers on task and engaged.

Provides instruction in use of tools and equipment

Assists volunteers in understanding basic construction techniques and skills.

Provides volunteers instruction in safe work requirements and Is responsible for job site safety.

Keeps job site clutter free and insures site is cleaned to homeowners satisfaction at finish.

Maintains good relationship between clients and volunteers. 

 

Assess potential work sites and in conjunction with Center Director determine need and feasibility of work requested.

Determines project budget with Center director and insures project remains within budget.

Procures and delivers materials, tools and equipment to job site.

 

Makes the experience as pleasant as possible for everyone involved.
