About the Event

Ronni Lundy is pairing with the Appalachian South Folklife Center to bring you an evening of downright delightful food, Entertainment, and a chance to dress up a bit for a social night. Join us on Sunday, March 25th for a Meet & Greet hour at 5:00pm with a cash bar and coffee. Dinner will be served at 6:00pm featuring dishes directly from Ronni's cookbook Victuals, lovingly prepared by local guest chefs. Entertainment and discussion to follow dinner, and dessert and coffee will be served. We hope you'll join us for a feast of the senses, and a celebration of the changing of the season.

Tickets are $25 per plate or $40 per pair.

Shredded Beef Shank & Buttermilk Dumplings

Time and heat transform these rich and fatty cuts of meat into tender intensely rich bits of flavor. The airy, buttery dumplings in this dish add another layer of richness to this savory dish.

Skillet Fried Chicken & Milk Gravy

Sweet and juicy chicken cuts fried in a skillet to a perfect deep golden crust, Served with warm milk gravy and cornbread.

Vegetarian Combination

A colorful combination of the dishes listed below, served with a hearty chunk of cornbread.

Crisp sweet apples sauteed and bathed in a sweet glaze.

Mountain Green Beans & Taters

Mountain green beans and new potatoes cooked low and slow to coax out their distinct flavors. (This is a meatless variation of the recipe, all substitutions are suggested in Victuals.)

Roasted Root Vegetable Salad & Orange Sorghum Vinegar (and Bacon, optional)

A delicious blend of vibrant root vegetables, served chilled and drizzled with orange sorghum vinegar and sea salt.

English Pea Salad with Cream Dressing

A lovely light salad made with fresh peas and radishes tossed in a cream and honey dressing.

Desserts

Black is the New Jam Cake

A dense, slightly spicy cake that gets it's moistness and mysterious flavor from jam.

Fried Pies

Apple pies sweetened with sorghum and fried to perfection.
