Welcome to The Folklife Center online!

ASFC's history is deeply rooted in the values of our Founder, Don West, who sought to improve the lives of Appalachian people through education and collaboration.  Through our programs and services we allow thousands of people ways to learn about Appalachia and the obstacles we face.  Our inclusive atmosphere and peaceful campus offers everyone a variety of ways to share and create.  Individuals, families and groups are invited to visit ASFC for a chance to gather, learn and volunteer.

Bored? Restless? How about volunteering?

Whether you are a group of up to 50 who wants to participate in a workcamp/ alternative spring break/ mission trip or an individual who has time on their hands we have opportunities for you. Alittle bit makes the difference.
